Pre-Residency Clearance Instructions

One of the requirements for your student teaching placement is obtaining pre-residency clearance through the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI). Please visit the website linked below for instructions on how to complete the clearance process.

Fingerprints

Candidates must have valid fingerprint clearance or a valid certificate while they’re in the program.
Fingerprinting must be submitted through an OSPI-approved method. More information on fingerprinting procedures and fees can be found here: https://ospi.k12.wa.us/certification/fingerprints-background-checks

PRC

All candidates without a valid certificate in WA state certification programs must submit the Pre-Residency Clearance form through the eCert program.
