WHO CAN APPLY?
In accordance to state law all candidates must be of the following requirements.
You must be at least 18 years of age .
Hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited university.
Teacher candidates seeking an endorsement in:
Biology, Chemistry, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, English Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, Special Education or World Language.
WHAT DO I NEED?
Complete application.
Written statement.
WEST-B or equivalent scores, NES/WEST-E scores (plus ACTFL OPI/WPT for World Language candidates).
Transcripts showing a minimum of a bachelor's degree awarded.
*Candidates may complete an application before taking the WEST-B; however, no candidate can be admitted to the program without WEST-B or equivalent scores.
**Candidates may be conditionally admitted before these exams are completed, however they would be limited in the amount of work they can do. All candidates are strongly encouraged to complete their testing as soon as possible. Candidates may not begin the field placement without passing scores on these tests.
HOW DO I APPLY?
Submit the online application, including your written statement.
Once your application is submitted, you will be sent an email with links to upload materials and schedule your interview.
Writing prompt: Each classroom is a reflection of the teacher who runs it. At the beginning of the year, you will need to set the mood and expectations for your students. Write a letter to the parents of the students in your class explaining what they can expect from your class. This letter should be no more than one page.
Submit transcripts and test scores.
Unofficial copies are acceptable during the application process; however, official copies will be required if admitted.
Schedule and complete an interview.
